In the world of interior design, choosing and installing window blinds is not just about decoration but also an important part of creating comfortable and functional living and working spaces.

After choosing the blinds that suit your home, the next step is to install them. You can request installation service from the store when purchasing blinds. If you buy blinds online and have to install them yourself, this process is also quite simple. In this article, GLORY this article will guide you on how to install window blinds properly for your family space.

All three types of blinds - roller blinds, Roman blinds, and Venetian blinds - have basic installation methods that are similar. However, there are still some similarities and differences. Let's find out together with GLORY! To install blinds, you need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Prepare your tools before installation

  • Blinds (roller, Roman, Venetian): This is the main part of the window covering, sized according to your door or window.
  • Curtain rod: This is the part for hanging the blinds on the wall, including brackets and the rod.
  • Other tools: screws, drill, hammer, measuring tape, pencil.

Step 2: Measure your door or window

To install blinds for a door, such as a window, you need to measure the window size accurately. Here's how:

  • Use a measuring tape to measure the width and height of the window from left to right. You should measure multiple times to get an accurate average measurement. nhất.
  • Record the measurements for reference when purchasing.

Note:

  • If you want the blinds to cover the entire window frame (full coverage), measure from the left wall to the right wall. Note that you should buy blinds and curtain rods with a width equal to the width of the window frame plus an additional 40cm to ensure the blinds can fully cover the light and space.
  • If you want to install inside the window frame, measure similarly as above but do not add an additional 40cm. Measure from the left wall to the right wall, flush with the window frame.

Step 3: Install the curtain rod

  • Use a pencil and measuring tape to mark on the wall the position where you want to install the curtain rod.
  • Use a hammer to drive screws into both ends of the curtain rod. Make sure to tighten them securely so the curtain rod won't fall or shake when hanging the blinds.
  • Then, use a drill to make holes in the wall at the marked positions. Make sure to drill holes with the correct size for the screws so that they won't be loose or fall out.
  • Insert the screws into the holes on the wall, then use a hammer to drive wall plugs into them. You should drive the wall plugs flush with the wall surface, so the curtain rod can easily hook onto them. Make sure to secure the wall plugs firmly so the screws won't come loose from the wall.
  • Hook the curtain rod onto the screws, ensuring that the rod is evenly aligned on both sides and not crooked. Double-check the curtain rod by gently shaking or pulling it to see if it falls down.

Step 4: Hang the blinds

Finally, you will hang the blinds onto the curtain rod. To complete the blind installation process, you can do the following:

  • Hook the blinds onto the curtain rod so that the fabric part faces outward to avoid dust and sunlight.
  • Pull the blinds to check the tension and operation of the blinds.
  • For Roman blinds, after hanging the blinds, you will attach the rod into the blinds, then use the cord to thread through the loops attached behind each rod to create folds upward.

Note: Rainbow blinds have a dual-layered fabric structure, while Roman blinds have a folding design, so they require a wider space to ensure that the fabric strips can move without obstruction. Therefore, installation requires careful consideration to ensure smooth movement of the fabric layers.
